Tyre pressures

Featured Replies

Idiot question coming up.

What the pressure is best for 16inch wheels on the hatchback? Unloaded apart from driver and occasional small children!

Struggling to interpret suggestions on fuel cap door.

Should it be 2.1 all round?

We run our 16" on 2.4 all round.

Tire pressures for all sizes are found on a label on the inside of the gascap cover.

2.1 all around is standard pressure

2.4 all around is "eco" - harder tyres roll a bit more easily than standard pressures, but ride is firmer

Economy versus comfort, take your pick for "best".

Ours came new from Skoda dealer with 2.4 front & 3.2 rears.

That would be "fully loaded" pressures.

Did the dealer ask how you would be using the car?

The pressures I put a post or two up are correct for the original question, according to the label by the filler cap.

No mention from the dealer, but when I read the tyre pressure label on the fuel flap I checked to see, & they were at full load pressures.

Been running 2.4 all round since.

You sure the fully loaded is right? 3.2 bar equates to 46psi. That's massive pressure!

Flap label states for R16

F 2.1  R 2.1 Low load

F 2,4  R 2.4 Medium (Eco)

F 2.4  R 3.2 Full load.

Yep, that's right. Ran my down to Newcastle and back this weekend. 4 adults and all there respective baggage. Back to 2.1 all round now. :)

Wow! Really!

But Im not surprised. When Im having the seasonal tire change first thing is to check the pressure. Though the rubber shop is supposed to be professional Ive never measured a correct and even pressure. Carrying a meter doesnt hurt much and will save som money on increased tire life.

Whats found in mine.

Does seem a wee bit high but that is indeed what it says on my filler cap

With just two of us and a bit of shopping on board most of the time, I have found that 2.1 (30 psi) all round gives a more comfortable ride and cornering seems more precise especially in the wet.  However, if you decide to do this make sure that you reset the tyre pressure computer bit otherwise there is a risk that at some point the warning sign will come on and you might imagine that you have a puncture.

just found out they are 195/55/h15, and should be 30 psi front and 32 rear. i have been running 32 front and 33 rear! no wonder it is a bit choppy! will redo tomoz and see how it differs

The Mark III Fabia does not have 195 55 15 fitted to it?

Look behind the fuel filler cap for tyre pressures and tyre sizes.

Thanks AG Falco

Just remember that the recommended pressures are when cold so it's hard to get them exactly right.

a lot better ride, since i changed the pressures using a kwikfit tyre pressure finder using my reg number

Suggest you check again as a Fabia III should not have 195 55 15 tyres fitted to it!
