Vibrataion through floor 40mph and up

Featured Replies

Hi! I have problem with my new yeti, it is a 2013 2.0tdi DSG6 with 3k miles in it, dealer warranty expires in 300 miles.

Ihad it since i bought it, and it seems its worse in colder weather, but when warmed up not so bad. It doesnt matter if im in gear or N.

It feels through the floor and seat, not the steering wheel. Ive tried to steer left and right but cant hear any noice from bearings.

My dealer says its unbalanced tyres and i hope, but should that dissapear when warmed up? Do tyres get that warmed up? If so maybe try higher pressure.

And dealer is 350miles away :/

Engine rev doesnt matter.

Unbalanced or damaged rear tyres would be where i started looking. Often you find the inside edge worn like a 50 pence piece.

Drive shaft and/or giubo coupling are other rotating components but shouldn't give trouble at that mileage unless damaged somehow.

Any reason you are not taking the car to a Tyre Fitting centre and having the Tyres Balanced,

or a Specialist after that and have the Alignment checked and adjusted if required.?

Obviously the Dealership Technicians have no Tyre Balancing Facilities or much concern for your safety.

??

Have you checked the tyres closely for bulges.

The inside tyre walls need checked...

Then the Wheel Nuts (Bolts) slacken and re-tighten with the tyre off the ground,

just to be sure that when the winter tyres were changed to summer that they were correctly fitted.

Tyre pressures all checked and set?

I have also tested the wintertyres (16" summer is 17") and maybe they were a little better, but could be imagination.

Gonna check tyres for bulges after work.

I have now tested to rebalance, teh 17" summer tyres, but it didnt help :/

Where do you drive your Yeti? is it off road or on highways in good repair?

Have you removed any of the wheels recently? I had a Golf which after a

sidewall puncture needed a new tyre, this was done at the local VAG garage

Whoever refitted the wheel did not mount the wheel squarely and it vibrated

the car much as you are saying.
