Red door lights?

Featured Replies

New Octavia 1.0tsi. Should the red lights on the drivers and passenger door light up when open? They did on my 2012 Octavia. My dealer says that they don't light up, that they are just reflectors? Can someone confirm this please?

Just reflectors on lower spec cars.

It's possible to retrofit the warning lamps though.

Door card off, some wiring and VCDS coding (plus 2 warning lamps with bulbs).

Yeah, it's a retrofit job. I did my, as well as "ambient" lights under door handles.

If you decide to do it, here is the door controller schematics for reference. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/72524/Forumi/puerta.pdf

Also, VCDS coding is required.

Thanks for the replies. I 've looked at the current brochure and it refers to them as safety lights and shows them lit up.

My car is a style model so I would have thought that they would be lights not reflectors. As its a new car I was concerned that it could be a fault.

I am also interested in installing the door red light because my octavia, even it is a style mode , came without them, just with simple reflector

I found the original codes for the lamps at the dealer, but i'm interested in more details regarding the wires and connections i have to make and the VCS Coding.

So if you remember, could you tell me to which cable i must connect and what shoud i code in VCS?

For the ambient light for door handles i haven't found anything on internet so any details would help me here.

Thank you,

Radu

Hi, can so.eone told us where to connect the wires inside the door panel ,of the red warning lights?

Is there any way to connect them somewhere and work without coding?

I suppose somewhere which is relevant with door lock
