Retrofitting Bluetooth to my Columbus, where do the cables go?

Featured Replies

Where do I route the cable harness from the Bluetooth module to the Columbus, and to the mic in the dome light?

Bluetooth module - Does the harness run under the armrest, handbrake and gear stick up behind the Columbus?

The Mic - Does the cable run from the Columbus behind the glove box up the left windscreen pillar to the dome light?

Please excuse my nubeness and lack of manliness!

I can't help with the bluetooth module, but when I fitted a mic to mine I did run the cable down the passenger A pillar after fitting the mic first, although it may well be able to be routed down the other side. The cover on the pillar just pulls off.

I found that once it's routed down to dash level, remove the end panel (looks like it's got a rubber doughnut on it) and then taping the end of the cable that plugs into radio to a semi-flexible rod that's long enough to poke through. it makes passing the cable past the glovebox and other obstacles a little easier that trying to get your arm in there to pull it through.

I found fitting the module behind the glove box a little easier than under the seat.

Cheers chaps. How did you secure the module behind the glove box Phil-E?

It wedges in nicely here:

I sat the module under the driver's seat, ran the cable under the carpet and bullied the quadlock into submission to sit behind the radio. I ran the mic up the right hand pillar but cba with pulling the headlining down to fit the mic so it sits at the top of it. Works perfectly, apart from needing some vcds coding to get it working with maxidot properly.

I think my module's behind the climate control panel.

Guess what I'll be doing all day tomorrow....

I routed the wiring through the dash, behind the glovebox then down under the trim around the bottom of the doorway, towards the passenger seat. Bluetooth box sits under the passenger seat.

Mic was routed up the drivers A pillar and then tucked above the headlining to the centre light unit.

Just take your time with it and be patient and you'll get there.

Great that's what I thought, I'm going to have to route it all under the drivers side as I have a Sound System upgrade amp under the passenger seat, going to be a fun day!
