Fabia VRS Tyres

Featured Replies

I'm looking at changing my tyres pretty soon for the first time since getting the car, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend some and advise costs:confused:

pilot exalto 2's

eagle f1 gsd3's

Vredestein SPORTRAC 2

Toyo T1-R's

I have T1-R's on mine. They grip well and are not that noisey. Not sure how long they will last though.

I've found the wear rate to be really good, especially compared to how I've been told the old T1-S's wear.

Pirelli P Zero Nero's are £65 on mytyres.co.uk at the moment.....

Vredestein SPORTRAC 2

£ 61.10 each from mytyres.co.uk.

That's what I'm going for anyway. 27 thousand miles and my Michelins are showing their age.

These are only V-rated, original equipment is W-rated. And yes I know that V-rated are OK for upto 150mph, just that some insurance companies might not like it if you down rate from OE specification.

I think mine have covered about 7k miles and they seem ok so far, the originals lasted to 18k.

If I get over 12k miles on them I'd be happy.

whatever comes with shiney new alloys. its cheaper to buy 4 wheels with falkens or toyos than but 4 oem tyres.

stick the stock alloys in the loft/garage or sell the,m to me and get new wheels free with your new tyres.

Where can you get a wheel and tyre package for >

I have W rated Pirelli P Zero Neros, and they are awesome.

Not cheap though, and looking to be needing replacement after only 12,000 miles. The OEM Bridgestone Turanzas lasted 16,000 - but they weren't great tbh.

The T1Rs are great.. mine lasted 25k + 3 trackdays... could probably get another 10-15k if it wasnt for the trackdays.

just (ie TODAY) had kumho ku31's fitted.. will let people know how i get on with those :)

make SURE they are w rated tyres, I heard that insurance companies will void the cover if you crash and there are v rated tyres on!

i got uniroyal rainsport2 's on mine and they are grrrrrrrrrrrreat:thumbup:

Ok slight exageration maybe
Pirelli P Zero Nero's are
I'v seen the prices of tyres on mytyres.co.uk seem alot less than other places iv been quoted, but what sort of price is a tyre fitter going to charge me to have my own tyres fitted?

You can arrange tyre fitting through mytyres at a local tyre fitter for an agreed price and even have the tyres delivered there. That's what I did with the T1-R's for the Ibiza.

eagle f1 gsd3's

I'd second those, been running them for years, fantastic tyres.

£10 a corner would be about average, maybe less if it was all four in one go. Last time it cost me £25 for four, ring round your local area and ask first though.

I'm using asymmetrical Yokohama Paradas at the moment. Good grip at speed round adverse camber bends. Predictable slides etc. Proper Bo!

Hi John

What are they like for wet grip, wear and noise? Also, how much and where from?

Chris

OZ alloys are a good make' date=' nowt wrong with them. R32 alloys are also made by Ronal as it a lot of the VAG range, so if you see Ronals + tyres at a good price then you know is also a good deal.

There's 2 slightly different designs of R32 wheels the early cars had OZ Aristo's, later cars had Ronal's which had flatter spokes. BTW Ronal is owned by OZ. Ronal also make Oettinger's wheels.

I agree OZ's are good wheels I have superleggera's on the Octavia but I wouldn't have Nankang tyres.
