  • Likely that BMW knew they just needed to design a driving machine as they were unlikely to be Taxis or Hire cars and there was no need  to impress paying passengers.

  • I've been offered one at £349 PM with a £349 deposit.   If I didn't have a baby due in the next 8 weeks i'd be all over it.

  • i know it has a 3.0 multi turbo inline 6 but the fact that BMW call it a 140i still seems wrong to me(i'm old enough to remember when BMW put a 4.0 V8 in the 5er and thinking that's badass) guess its

Might be the recording or You Tube but it doesn't sound very special to me.

Have never been able to come round to the looks of the 1 series but can definitely see the appeal in a small powerful car.

The interior is very underwhelming, My superb interior is more interesting than that.

Joe stumbles on a M135? /M140i while out cruising in his M2 . Interesting run out drive and chat comparison.

I'm a great fan of the 'bread van' looks (although I didn't like the initial 1 series) - I'd seriously have a 140 over a 240.

How many member owners (or others) of M135i & M235i  have actually test driven the M140i & M240i yet. Your comparative comments would be good to read, in justification or otherwise  to replace old for new.

Any one negotiated a great deal with a BMW Dealership?

Are they offering great trade-in and or discounts ?

New M240i makes the M235i look like a good deal.

Hmmmm spring soon.

Autocars review on M140i . Interesting when compared to the above owners and BMW fanatic Joe Chilles videos reviews.

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/bmw/1-series/first-drives/2016-bmw-m140i-review

Autocar conclusion quote :

" Despite not being as sharp as the latest crop of hot hatches, the M140i still has the ability to put a huge smile on your face. No, it’s not as tied down as a Focus RS, and no, it doesn’t have the point-to-point pace of Golf R or the outright grip of a Leon Cupra. But on the right road none of that matters."

However, not on the snow covered or rain soaked roads, I guess it may still have the same inherent issues. Remains pretty much the same?

It will be good to get some feedback from owners of the M140i.

i know it has a 3.0 multi turbo inline 6 but the fact that BMW call it a 140i still seems wrong to me(i'm old enough to remember when BMW put a 4.0 V8 in the 5er and thinking that's badass) guess its me not being ok with the current BMW numbering system....but that said...I would love 1 lol

BMW numbering vs displacement has been off for a long long time. the E46 318 was a 2.0 and that was 15yr ago.

Not a bad deal for those that want a playful manual M140i

Not bad for those who can't afford a new one, may be. Negotiable I'm sure.

Autos similarly priced- bargains to be had?

Note! Similar sale price to many a M135i on BMW used website.

That's some nasty depreciation for someone.

If there was a 240i at those prices I'd be looking closely.

Not sure if it would steer me away from an XFR but it'd certainly be cheaper to run.
