MY17 order dilemma

Featured Replies

I have a SE L greentech 75hp on order since early July and today the Dealer has confirmed that the car will be a MY17. Now the dilemma I have is that they don't even have a brochure to look at let alone a car to view, and that makes me uneasy. I've had a look at the new up so I've got an idea but I'm seriously considering cancelling the order.

There is lots of pre reg cars about at the moment but they are mainly 60hp S or SE that come nowhere near to the spec I had ordered. There are plenty of pre reg Up's too and they are generally a better spec in standard trims than the Citigo and 75hp is very easy to find. Aaarrhhh!!

I can understand your frustration, you are going to get a car which you have no idea what it is going to look like!.If Skoda are going to start building the 2017 model from next week it's about time they updated their website and brochures.

Have the Dealership get Skoda UK the Importer to confirm the exact spec.

Or go straight to Skoda UK Customer Services and have them provide it.   As will be built and delivered to the UK.

Not rocket science and Skoda like the advertising 'Simply Clever'.

This happens every year, odd that the Dealerships are always surprised, but then that is just how the are. 'Simple' of mind often.

Dilemma resolved, salesman unhappy, order cancelled.

Basically the first the dealership knew of the update was my phone call asking about it, having read about it on here. They then looked into it and found an unread email from Skoda UK, outlining the changes in writing with a few basic images of dash and phone app. I feel this is pure incompetence by both dealer and manufacturer.

I'm pretty sure the VW site ran both new and old versions of the Up in tandem for a few weeks, with some comment to the effect that previous model year cars may have limited options due to stock limitations. That way folk could either try and get a deal on the outgoing model or have a play at configuring the facelifted 'new build' Skoda should have pulled their finger out by now.

Think they are on the Skoda cz website

For weeks in advance of the facelift Up! being sold the new car was on the VW UK website as 'coming soon',there has not been a mention of the new Citigo on the Skoda UK website, seems a bit odd.

Yeah it does. I just wonder with VW being under the cosh at the moment all over the world for various reasons they are just prickly about sister companies stealing their thunder on a new model? Time will tell, but as they are all built in the same factory I can't see them wanting to run different lines for too long.

Still no news from Skoda about the facelift Citigo but Hyundai have announced their 2017 facelift for the i10 and will launch the new model at the Paris Motor Show in October.Come on Skoda, why so shy?.

Hyundai are also launching the new i30 at paris this year as well, and their triple play Ioniq (hybrid, plugin hybrid and full EV variant of same car)  hits the streets in October

and the i30 gets a sporty N edition next year unlike the new fabia which won't get a VRs version

Skoda seem to be resting on their rears a bit lately, the new Kodiak is due later this year but not much info yet, or are their VAG lords and masters limiting their options?
