Vrs price advice

Featured Replies

What kind of money should I be paying for an Octavia Vrs? I am looking at a 10 plate blue one with average miles and an 11 plate red one with average miles. Parkers says an 11 plate should be £8740 from an Indy dealer and a 10 plate £5450 from an Indy dealer, seems a big difference for one year so would like to find out a more accurate price from people in the know please.

Depends on mileage options transmission fuel etc

Looking at manual, diesel, average miles (60k on 11 plate and 70k on 10 plate) no extras just pretty standard

I can't answer your question directly but my last two experiences at viewing cars after getting prices from Autotrader hasn't resulted in success. Both private sales and i did manage to negotiate money off but not as low as the stated book price. It is supposed to be a buyers market!!

The 10 price looks way out even without looking at what's in the market at that price. The differential makes no sense so far as I can understand.  I think a 10 would be anywhere from £7.5-£8.5 and and 11 from £8-9.5k for a decent condition, no options and the kinda mileage you're talking.

Yeah that sounds more like it, looking at an 11 reg with 53k for 8700 so seems reasonable if it's as good as described

I just bought my immaculate 11 plate CR170 DSG from a dealer there last month for £9250

It's got 70k on it, full service history and well specced with NAV, Bluetooth, Xenon headlights, auto lights/wipers and whatnot, also been Revo remapped and has had a Witter removable towbar with 13 pin electrics added.

Just to give you an idea....

i paid 10k for mine in january

2012 30k fdsh dsg cr diesel with the alcantara interior and xenons, parking sensors, maxidot etc

Mike's a 2010 registered 59 plate. Bought it 18 months ago with 60k on the clock for £6900. Very basic spec though.

The two cars I am looking at are both basic spec, may be better to wait and keep looking as there are better buys out there. Just been looking on gumtree, autotrader, sun motors and eBay at the moment, anywhere else I should be looking?

I paid £9400 for mine back in May. 2011 60 plate DSG Gearbox 37k miles, 10 month MOT. A tad overpriced maybe but had been searching for one for 18 months and this was best i found.

Paid just under £10k for mine, was around 18 months ago now though.

2010 DSG TDI, 50k, Sat Nav and Leather seats are the only extras.

I feel I paid what it was worth, especially as I was able to trade in the Focus I managed to limp to the dealer  :D

I have put a deposit on one today and should be collecting it next Friday, 11 plate with 53k miles, fsh and is servicing it before I collect it, has a private plate included aswell which is a bonus. Paying £8600 which is not bad I reckon. Was thinking of holding out for one with some extras, parking sensors, hid's or sat nav etc but don't really need them and can retrofit a lot of things if I want to when I get this car
