Vent mounted phone holders?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations (or ones to avoid) for a vent mounted phone holder for the S3?  I don't have built in SatNav so I'd like to be able to have my phone mounted higher up so I can see the screen (Google Maps etc) while going along.  Generic type preferred, as I'm about to change my phone so don't want to commit to one variant.  I'm sure there are hundreds, but if there is one that fits really nicely it would be great to know.

I did used to have a screen mounted suction one a while ago (but it eventually broke), but it used to bounce around a lot (and then drop off every once in a while!) so I'd prefer something a bit firmer fitting, hence to the vent.

Thanks in advance

Discrete, looks good, does the job.

Both SWIMBO and I have one.

Brodit proclip from DSL Developments.

Expensive but good.

That is all.

Edit: £15.98 for the vent mounted clip and then whatever the cost for your respective phone cradle.

I keep a similar style of that in my car as an 'emergency backup' for when I get courtesy of hire cars. From personal experience I find using the large square/oblong pieces of metal are better suited as the round pieces tend to cause the phone to rotate on rough roads or sharp bends.

Not sure what ICE the OP has, but the Bolero in my MKII Octy Scout has a front loading cd slot so I use a cd slot mount with a grip attachment which I much prefer to the Vent mount.

I have a screen mounted one, but a very good quality one. A RAM Xgrip- American made and not cheap but works exceptionally well and works with any phone due to the Xgrip design so you don't need to change it when you change your phone. Also you can change individual component parts if they break but that's unlikely as they are made from decent ABS and aeroplane grade alloy.

tread Which phone holder?

just try Waze :)

Thanks for all the replies, very useful and gives me somewhere to look.  For reference in response to Fin69's query I have the Swing radio so no CD slot, hence the vent mount seemed the best way of getting the phone within my eyeline.

Have a good weekend everyone!
