radio signal

Featured Replies

Hi,

The radio reception on my 06 plate Octavia has been getting progressively worse; confirmed by a VDCS check which revels the following

Address 56: Radio Labels: 1K0-035-1xx-56.lbl
Part No SW: 1Z0 035 161 B HW: 1Z0 035 161 B
Component: Radio FO3 013 0029
Revision: 00013000 Serial number: SKZ7Z3F0087094
Coding: 0000402
Shop #: WSC 28059 576 91813
VCID: 2D577F73B4DE0849F59-8078
1 Fault Found
00856 - Radio Antenna
011 - Open Circuit

Any past experience on whether this is easy to rectify?

Thanks

New aerial base needed

^ +1

Thanks for the steer towards what the problem is. Is this a good a guide as I need, and does anyone have a good value place to buy the base from?

I had the same problem am was not working at all on my stereo, i got my aerial from the main dealer i think it was £20 for a complete genuine aerial reception now perfect, avoid ebay you never know what you will get !

I had the same problem, same fault code, replaced aerial and base with a new genuine one, Radio reception fine now.

Was it a straight forward job?

I have a very poor signal on am but perfectly OK signal on FM (I've been in the bolero settings and FM gets 60 (whatever the radio signal is measured in) and am gets 20, is this a symptom of needing a new aerial base or something more serious? Cheers

Sorry if this is off topic too far, didn't want to start a new thread when this one seems similar, to me at least :)

Very easy to do.

Just checking, is the aerial and base a main dealer purchase or are there other, perhaps cheaper suppliers out there? My searches only come up with copies.

Cheers I'll look into a new one, would a skoda sharkfin from a newer model work as they look much smarter than the antenna?
