Or those who learned in the war and were automatically given licences, so they would be 1945 at latest.

nice to see the do gooders out in force why aren't they all out on the thames saving the whale !! The question was about slow drinving not the wrongness of what Mike had done. Whats next for you lot ban the Vrs as it does more than 70mph (oops sorry none of you own them

I agree totally, you need to chill out a bit about the " SPEED KILLS" propaganda crap, specially from the current Labour spin brigade, every time you pass a speed camera ask yourself is this a accident blackspot ?,and is that really the best high visabilty paint they can use ,imo 19 MPH in a 30 is p*ss slow, could be seen as obstruction of a public highway, causing motorists to overtake unnecessally, where as if he had been adhering to the speed limit, there wouldn't have been a problem.

it seems to me as if the old bloke driving the bmw obviously knew about these speed cameras and acted accordingly , i suppose the ideal speed for him to be doing would be say 29 mph but he was cautious and drove slower , i think in a situation like this where its a 30 mph zone what is needed is patience .

What no-one has mentioned is the psychological need to get the traffic flow moving when one is at the head of a stream of traffic behind because of a slow driver in front. There is a temptation to "get it moving", especially if they behind are all tailgating (like no more than 15 feet between each one) - especially in a decent car.

Having only a 1.4, I've become used to being carved up by the bright spark behind as soon as I indicate, who decides he can get past us both. Basically, that's his choice, so I always overtake slowly cos it's just possible that I'll have to pull back in again

How is this on topic? Well, if you're sitting behind in a decent car, you're likely to be able to overtake at a reasonable speed without needing to floor it like what I would.

Mo

But surely we must compensate for the older drivers.if they do 19mph then fair enough we will probably all drive at that speed when we are old.

A bit of patience and you would have overtaken at a time when you could see the point where you would arrive after the maneouvre, therefore would have seen the speed camera aswell. try overtaking on a straight.

don't see the need to overtake a car driving 19mph at 50mph.

well done for your ticket...im sure you would think again next time. that's the idea anyway.

19mph is just sooooo sloooow though.JCB speed
