Amazon tyres?

Featured Replies

Just checking out whether anyone has ordered tyres online through Amazon, and if so, their experiences of the process.

Thanks

Not used Amazon specifically - I'm in need of 4 tyres for my Yeti and Amazon seem towards the top of online prices.

Which tyres are you considering?

I've previously run winter tyres (16" rims / 205/55/16 tyres), but am considering Michelin Cross Climate this time - http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/CrossClimate.htm/price/225-50-17

These are £137.43 + £9.86 UK delivery from Amazon.

I think I bought mine online from ASDA and they were fitted at a Halfords garage.

I'm seeking some Goodyear EfficiencyGrip Performance - a new pair for the rear wheels to replace the same tyre make/model.  I've been very pleased with them on the Yeti and they have proven to be far better than the Pirelli P Zeros the factory shod the car with originally.  I generally buy though MyTyres or Tyremen, for summer and winter tyres but thought I'd look elsewhere too.  I have to admit that the prices looked very good when I first read the Amazon webpage but then realized the page had swopped the search sizes, so not such a good deal - Doh !

A couple of months ago I used the Kwik Fit (yes i know!!) mobile tyre fitting service for the Fabia as they had the particular brand/model of tyre (Michelin) I was seeking on offer.  I have to admit they provided an excellent service despite my long standing prejudice, and they didn't try and bamboozle my partner (she's not tech savvy) at all with any 'urgently-needed' extras or whatever despite my absence at home when they arrived.

My local price matches mytyres and can get them in next day at the latest. Sorted.
