Air con not working

Featured Replies

The air con has stopped working, so I took it to a local specialist and asked them to check it.They pressure tested it and found its leaking. The culprit being the condenser pipe. How much to fix asks me?! The pipe can only be purchased from Skoda and will cost @£211! The final bill will come to north of £500.Does this sound right?! I need to fix it but that's a lot of money!

Depending on which section of pipe that is possible yes. It's quite a bit of labour to get into the front pipe and requires the de coupling tools to release them.

I've heard of some people getting pipes made up, but I'd guess until there is a bit more of that, going to your local VAG parts department is the only way to go!

If it's a hole in the alloy you can get it welded up.

Or see if somebody is breaking one or a scrapyard ?

I was going to suggest Skospares but their website seams to be down. Anyone know is they are still running?
