New member on the edge of the Peak District, UK

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Thought I'd introduce myself - I'm a new member living on the edge of the Peak District in the UK. I've currently got a Skoda Roomster that I've owned from new - been a great car and an incredibly flexible design. Previous to that I had a VM Golf GTI so been with the VAG group cars for a while now!

Disappointed to hear that the new Roomster may be cancelled, and am currently considering other options...  ;)

Cheers,

Steve

Welcome, a good number around the peak district. If my old school geography knowledge is still valid, more folk live within 60miles of Buxton than centre of london.

Good number of roomsters around too, it is a great car, I enjoyed mine. It is a shame it's been dropped, good job there are some strong replacements, just have to pick the best non-vag one.

Thanks for the welcome. I imagine a good number of Londoners don't want to go back once they've been up here either! Incidentally I work in Sheffield...

The problem is a good number of them are too van-like - as they are usually based on vans anyway! Skoda seem to have pulled quite a trick when they designed the Roomster. I am debating a Superb currently, vs actually getting a van!

Cheers,

Steve

I went from a roomster to a mkII superb. NOt as practical, but plenty of space to overcome that. Then I went to a citigo which I treat like a very small van, I'm either back in a superb or a van next :) Probably a van.

Welcome along :)

I think we'll need to organise a meet/drive out in the Peaks - then all the members from the various adjoining counties can meet in the middle!

Funny you say that, I was also considering a Transporter but have "accidentally" agreed a purchase of a mkII superb today...

i can seriously recommend the Superb II, just got an elegance 1.6l greenline estate (i know, boring) and im in awe, it's one of the best cars i have ever driven. Highly recommend

I've gone for the opposite end of the spectrum!
