Buy from one dealer - warranty work and servicing from another

Recommended Posts

I have ordered a Superb III from Newcastle but would hope to get the car serviced and any warranty work, if any, at my local dealer in Aberdeen. Has anyone ever had any problems with this? Do dealers try and discriminate against those who bought elsewhere?

Not an issue. I've had warranty work done before in a different country, let alone a different dealer. Not only that, I also got better customer service than at home.

So long as it's a genuine Škoda dealership you can have it serviced or have warranty work done where you want.

If you buy from a local dealership it's sometimes handy to stick with them if you ever want to p/x as you'll often get a better deal or offer for customer loyalty.

Otherwise the world's your oyster (or at least those countries with Škoda franchises).

If anybody like me leases they probably don't get their car serviced from where the car was supplied. It's never been a problem for numerous cars I've had. Any warranty work undertaken the dealership would claim back from the manufacturer and be glad of the business. In fact for warranty work do you not even need to go to a dealer so long as the garage use genuine Skoda parts? wasn't it some EU ruling....but that could all change of course

Not a problem.

My previous car (Merc) came from a dealer in Preston, I had it serviced at both Stevanage and Hertford dealers. One dealer was better than the other, so I stuck with them for the duration of the lease.

Skoda allow you to have the vehicle serviced at any Skoda location. You can book on line these days and choose whoever.

The only difference is that you might get a better cup of coffee if you are a personal customer and the staff recognise you as such  :D
