Service Logbook

Featured Replies

Evening

I picked up an L&K 67 reg car on Friday to replace my mk2 car.

I was looking through the car documents and there seem to be no log book for service. When I queried this at the dealer he explained that its now logged on line. I bought it from a skoda dealership.

I presume this is to tie you into the dealers for service.

What do others do to record their services on their cars?

You can get them to print off any service work carried out so far and keep it in a folder. I just keep all my receipts in with my handbook.

The indie that I use has access to Skoda's system and they update the central service record.

I'm old-school and find it very disconcerting not to be able to flick through the service book.

The schedule information was very helpful.

That said, service books couldn't be trusted, anyone with a mate at a garage can ask for their book to be stamped.

I was also disappointed with the lack of a service book when I purchased my vehicle a couple of weeks ago.

I have bought one from eBay that I will use for Garage stamps (as I won't be going to Skoda for services)
