ASR mega-judder

Agreed, and a performance car is usually small, impractical, and made to "look" fast as much as (or more than in the case of some cars) it *is* fast, thats why I love the whole contradiction of a fast estate.

Why put up with those impracticalities just to look good, are you RS owners *that* vain?

OK, Colin, try this for size since you persist in deliberately misreading the above:

Bigger front air dam (spoiler), bigger wheels, spoiler on the back - yet 'they' still need a badge on the radiator grill to say what model their car is. Insecurity or what?! :D

Badge on the radiator indeed, what will they think of next. Maybe they need to be reminded that they are:

Sorry Denis.

The weak always mock the strong at the first opportunity. I do apologise.

Delac, want me to change the colour? :)

Thanks guys. Think I've got my head round the trickery now. The manual confused me by referring to TCL which appears to be called ASR everywhere else.

Now I know it's the EDL that kicks in on the icy roads along with its characteristic noises :)

Getting back on topic........

I know what you mean about the EDL now (and yes, the 4x4 does have it)

Last night put the car in 2wd (I'll tell you other 4x4 owners how to do this in another thread  ), turned off the ESP and floored it, apart from torque steer and wheelspin on the ice, I then got a loud banging \ shudder as described and the front end stabilised.

It's a bit heavy handed (but then so was I) but effective!

Sorry Denis.

Please don't ask Larry the same question, you know which colour he will pick.

Pink please, and I am [b:0e43d31104]not[/b:0e43d31104] larry, DOH or samandjanet!

And this isn't a semi anonymous reply. My b****y signature has gone missing again from my profile! Where's Colin...

Gone to get tyres I believe....

we think the bug is when you have left it too long before replying, try entering the thread and replying quicker?

Still, the diagnostics showed a pressure loss on the turbo so something "good" came out of it (to be fixed next week)[/quote:cfecea6bc2]

ZootyRS, I had the same fault occur, with a intermittant hesitation in 1st gear at around 1500 rpm. Turned out to be MAF
