OK stupid question for the day ... how do you know if you have auto wipers? Does the stalk say Auto on it or something?

Have a look in the infotainment. Under wipers. The option will be in there to activate them if you do have them. Once the box is ticked, move the wiper stalk up to position 1 and that’s them turned on. Use the switch on top of the stalk to adjust sensitivity.

I didn't have auto wipers as standard the only option in the infotainment system I had was for automatic rear wiper thst turned it on when you selected reverse if the front windscreen wipers were on. I swapped the humidity sensor behind the rear view mirror for a rain and light sensor. Then when you put the wiper stalk in the first position that would normally be intermittent they are in auto mode and the switch thst adjusted the delay now controls the sensitivity of the sensor

Thanks both. I think I must have them, not checked in infotainment settings (will check later) but I knocked the wiper stalk in to the first position 1 and nothing happened (it wasn't raining)

Update - Checked the settings and yes I do have an option for "Automatic Windscreen Wiping in Rain" ...... that will be the auto wipers then  lol

OK guys I have run the extra wire from the light switch to pin c16 of the bcm but the automatic lights still don't work and now when I put it in the auto position it throws up a headlight fault warning on the dash and on the infotainment unit. Do I need to do any coding to tell the car it now has automatic lights?

Bringing old topic back alive!

I have this "automatic headlight fault" myself now. It comes and goes, sometimes my auto lights work and sometimes they don't.

I've went ahead and ordered a new sensor, from eBay which is coming from Germany for £44. I removed the plastic trim today from the mirror surround but one of the plastic clips broke off.

While the new sensor arrives, I'll try superglue the plastic part back to the trim but I'm unsure it will hole. Is anyone aware of a place I could get the plastic surround replaced?

I assume its just a case of old sensor out and new one in? I shouldn't need to disconnect the battery or anything eh?

Cheers.

Skoda fitted mine agaes ago and never played up again. I believe you can order the plastic parts from Skoda or use a breaker as there are quite a few of these cars there now smashed up

Hi

Did you get the coding sorted for your auto lights?

I have just run the extra wire and fitted the new switch and sensor, so now I’m looking at getting the coding done to get it all working.

Thanks

Graeme
