Heated Seats - Adjustable?

Featured Replies

First world problem!

and my first silly question I'm sure.

I searched but couldnt find any solution.

I live in a "temperate" climate.

The outside temperature will hit 3 celcius a few times each winter on coldest days.

My new Octy seat heaters are amazing... too amazing.

On the lowest setting, its really hot.

Does anyone know if this can be adjusted via VCDS or simliar?

Ideally halve the heating power in settings 1 and 2.

I don't need to cook breakfast on my seats...

I use the seats quite often, they are getting very hot in the beginning, no matter what setting you have.

Later the heat level settles down according to the setting 1,2 or 3.

I thaught the startup heat was a technological "feature". It would be interesting to know, whether VAG engineers have put some VCDS smartness into the heat program, to provide more oomph and happy customers though...

From a quick look at a saved adaptation map of Central Electronics (09), there do appear to be a few settings:

(1)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_1_Sitz       25%

(2)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_1_Lehne    30%

(3)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_2_Sitz       25%

(4)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_2_Lehne    30%

(5)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_3_Sitz       53%

(6)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_3_Lehne    58%

(7)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_4_Sitz       53%

(8)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_4_Lehne    58%

(9)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_5_Sitz       80%

(10)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_5_Lehne  85%

(11)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_6_Sitz     80%

(12)-Seat fan charac. curve-Level_6_Lehne  85%

Google tells me that 'Sitz' translates to 'seat' and 'Lehne' to 'rest' (assume backrest). I can only assume that the six levels refer to driver and passenger, i.e. 1-3 for driver and 4-6 for passenger or vice-versa.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

is that a euphemism?

My specialty is sarcasm. But in this case. They're just too warm to sit on.

Thanks Tomsimes. I can see I need to find someone with VCDS before winter. Or just buy it myself. Looks promising.
