Removing rear bumper reflector

Hi Everyone, i was wondering if anyone know how to remove the reflectors that is sitting on the rear bumper under the rear lamps. Do i need to remove the bumper or can i pop it out from the outside somehow?

Not sure about the Mk3 but they were just a push fit on the Mk2.

The reflector is a legal requirement.

It pushes out from the inside. If you look in the project section (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/396743-m12mkds-2015-octavia-mk3-20tsi-vrs-combi/#entry4696436)

You can see the clips. First one is the worse, once you know how it goes the rest get easier.

Of course I'm sure someone will be along later to say I'm wrong and that's not possible and they done it using peanut better and jelly.

They can be popped out from the outside, if done very carefully with small prising tool and avoidance of paint damage

Thank you for your replies, to Clarify im tolkning about a standard octy, not the RS one as M12MKD seems to have Linked to?

I will try carefully to pop the out with a plastic troligtvis this weekend and be back with The results

Why do you want to remove them?

 

For instance i disliked the reflector, and covered it with some black reflective tape. I'm more than happy with the result, except when i get too close.

Don't know about Sweden, but in the UK, like auditek says, it's a legal requirement.

I want to remove them so i can cover them with matte black vinyl, but maybe i just do it when they are still on the Car.

If keep the car until it is due an MOT you might be looking at failure. Of course a traffic cop might have an opinion on this. IMO Doesn't make sense to drive around with a reason for them to stop you.

On many occasions it has been those reflectors (and the registration plate) that have stopped me piling into the back of vehicles because the driver didn't think it dark, raining or foggy enough to put their lights on.

Just checked my car using a torch. The bumper reflectors are the only ones on the back of my car. There is no reflective element in the rear light cluster. So definitely illegal to remove them and and a MOT failure.

If you have a dark coloured car parked on a dark street the reflectors are going help prevent cars crashing into your pride and joy.

Nothing to stop you "blacking out" a section of it.

Thank you for this picture, maybe i will do the same. But i kind of like the rear Lights as they are, the future will tell!

 You might not, the driver who hits you up the backside might disagree.
