Value of ff options 2013 Spaceback SE

Featured Replies

Afte 2 very happy years driving the Rapid Spaceback, we're contemplating a change to a (nearly new) Fabia. Just wanted to ask if anyone has an opinion on whether we should expect the factory fitted panoramic glass sunroof/style pack to add anything to the "book" part ex value (of the standard SE model). Ive had a look at used models up and down the country and there doesn't seem to be very much available at the age and mileage of our car, particularly if you're looking for one with the full glass roof etc. We've also had an Amundsen installed (originally a Swing unit) but so far, these additional items appear to have made almost no difference to part ex value. Thanks for any thoughts.

Recently changed our 2014 Spaceback TSI SE with the full sport pack option including the glass roof. Was very disappointed with the trade in I received from two Skoda dealers against a new TDI version. However a local Seat dealer came up with a much better offer against their service managers car (demo), a top spec Toledo TDI.

So from my experience I'd not expect any uplift in book price for having nice options, although on the other hand dealers are as always keen to bump up the forecourt price for a good spec motor.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. Looks as though your experience is similar to my own. Why am I not surprised? Thanks again - I'll just have to hope that when it comes to the time for the serious negotiations, I am able to exert a little influence on proceedings. Here's hoping!

On a car like this these types of extras wont add much if any value i would say. this is purely due to the buyers and a very low number of them who actually have a wanted spec list.

Dealers will be selling the cars at the same price as others to get a sale.

This is a complety different ball game comapred to more premium brand cars where the customer want X, Y and X spec or no sale.

many thanks for taking the time to reply. At least I now know not to expect too much when negotiating!

I would still push for a good price though and if the figures dont look perfect walk to the next dealer... theres plenty of more cars out there.

Thanks for the advice. Although there seem to be plenty of SE Fabias, I'm surprised just how few SELs and Colour Editions there seem to be for sale within (say) 100 miles of home.

Must admit I love ticking the options on cars, both SWMBO and mine have a fair few added extras, but sadly when it comes to trade in values most dealers just look at 'book' value and unless you press them for more given the options you only get a base spec price.

Some would say this is why you don't add loads of options, at the end of the day if you have a reasonable idea of your cars value and a dealer wants a sale you would think they would come to a deal.
