Featured Replies

Guys

My wheel need refurbing - they are standard vRS wheels pre face lift car.

I fancy a different colour than the OEM but dont know what colour to have them painted, obviously black car light coloured wheel but I'm unsure any advice and pictures would help me decide what to go for.

Standard wheels - silver or "dark silver".

Black can pull anything off tbh, I've had red, white, pink and black on my black vrs. Out of the lot I must say red and white looked the best.

Id stay oem colour

silver - not black or dark grey or any other colour (they are just wrong wrong wrong...)

Silvers boring ;D

Gunmetal or anthracite is OK, black on black is just to much. Need to be a bit lighter

What size wheel are they?  I'm currently running the standard 17" Zeniths.  If they are clean & shiny, they look okay, if they are dirty they appear to be smaller for some reason.  I'd go with the OEM silver option (but secretly really like SNH's red wheels!)

I also am totally with Mike on the black wheel thing.  I can't understand the current fad for black wheels as there are very few cars I see where they look even half decent.  They also look really shocking when the tyres aren't dressed and the wheels are darker than the tyres.  I'm probably in the minority on this but I'd not go for black and anthracite can be too dark on certain colours  - don't get me started on white.......

Hours and hours was spent cleaning these,

Have just had my black Scout's wheels done be Alloy Wheel Solutions in Hereford.  Went for a slightly darker silver than factory adn am very please with the results.  I could post some pictures but the car's covered in mud at the moment...  When it next gets washed I'll try to remember to take some.  Total cost was £270 which included disposing of the worn tyres and putting on/balancing etc. the new tyres.

Was this for the whole wheel doing or just the faces?

That was for the whole wheel:  Tyre off, chemical clean, machine out any kerbing etc. repaint/laquer, tyre on and balance.

They had the wheels for 4 days - I had a spare set to run about on as these were being done

That's a great price for all the work they put in.  The local places near me are nowhere as good value as that. :S
