LED Bulbs in 2010 Facelift Octavia

Featured Replies

Are LED Bulbs safe to use in a 2010 facelift OCTAVIA?

I have seen on this site in the past they are dangerous as they can over heat and melt the wiring?

which bulbs are your thinking about - there's rather a lot in a car :)

Anything sold as CAN bus friendly has potential to cause issues as they tend to have a resistor to emulate the bulb load.

It's possible to code out bulb warnings on the FL MK2 using proper tools (VCP/ODIS-e, not VCDS) as I have. Unfortunately, it needs a BCM that supports LED lighting and yours might be too early. I believe that the changeover was around MY12 :)

As above, which bulbs are you thinking of changing as I've done most the exterior ones on my car.

Woah capslock!

I've done all those, some of bulbs I used can be found here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/364667-my12-elegance-work-log-with-part-numbers-and-coding/?p=4456900

LED's in the stock clusters are probably going to look bad, I suggest you find full LED rear clusters from either the Chinese Octavia or Dectane.

Finally, I would not recommend using any H7 LED replacements in the headlight. Just use some decent halogen bulbs...
