Michelin cross climate aren't a bad shout, no out right performance but, they're a bit quieter and Costco 's have them at £90 a corner.

Yeah the Eagle Asymmetric 3 can be found on black circle for about £75 a corner and they are said to be quiet too

I ended up going for the cross climate on the front of the car, i'm impressed with them, I got them from black circles for around £90 quid including fitting and disposal.

I read a lot on here about winter and summer tyres. Do we need these in the UK?

I have driven for 44 years and never heard of seasonal tyres before joining Briskoda

We don't really need winter tyres in this country unless you have a BMW ( rear wheel drive ), however the cross climates are a good comprise as they have a winter thread but you can drive them all year round, I think fuel efficiently drops a little with these but not by much, now the icy weather has arrived should be able to see a difference.

Just say, obviously if you live in the country side with untreated roads then it might be a different story :)

I've got Michelin CrossClimates on, I needed them for recent drive to Berlin. They have full snowflake/mountain rating yet are effectively summer tyres. They are excellent, and based on reviews out there out-perform summer tyres in some respects, such as wet weather breaking.

I was on Michelin energy saver plus beforehand and I have noticed a slight difference in economy but not that much.

I intend to stay on them now all year and save on refitting and storage costs
