Crappy function of "virtual pedal" boot opening with your foot

Featured Replies

No, no, it's animal skin don't you know  :D

I've had little success, however my Hokey Cokey has improved immensely. Will try the suggested manoeuvre tomorrow.

Well, today I tried and tried and tried again, regardless of any sort of fancy footwork the gate refused to lift at all. I'm now wondering if it's become inoperative since having auto locking on leaving the car coded in........Martin?

I have tried all the suggestions in this thread but without success. It is still a crappy function..

The only way for me to have it non working is to try with car unlock

If car locked it works all the time

Afterall if car is open mean u didn t have the hands full lol

I was at the Skoda dealer today with my car. I did not have high expectations that they would solve my crappy virtual pedal function, but fooled i was. They told me that there was an official recall campaign issued just a couple of days ago related to this function. The official name of the recall action is 96e2. They changed an ECU and updated some software. This actually solved my problem 100%. The funtion now works as a charm...

So i had problems with the virtual pedal boot opening in my 2018 Superb sedan.  Turns out I was standing too close to the bumper.   When i stand about a foot away from the bumper and kick under the rear it works perfectly.   Easy fix 😎

Sometimes virtual pedal did not work. Also sometimes the boot did not open when i used the switch.

When installing my towbar i found the kessy antenna loose from it’s  bracket. Dangling from it’s wires. Reinstalled it. Now works every time.

yep, just had the virtual pedal sensor changed for the second time (under warrentee) and works fine again. Mine is a 17 model and fail after around first 6 months of ownership from new.

Had a 2016 superb and now a 2019 superb and on both the virtual pedal has never worked. Just gave up and put it down to a gimmick to sell cars. Always made sure I have the keys in my hand to open it , even if both hands  are full off shopping bags, so no problem.

since reading this thread (and the proper method).........mine has worked every time.

My control unit failed for the VP.

For the very few times I ever successfully used the feature the ,£600 repair bill means it really wasn't worth repairing

I think I've either been very lucky or mines already been warranty repaired/fixed/replaced by the PO as mine works like a charm, even works for the wife and kids!

Mine even works when I'm cleaning under the rear bumper and have the keys in my pocket 😂
