Wheel Storage Rack/Tree , which one ?

Featured Replies

Looking to get a wheel storage rack/tree to store my spare set of wheels.

Does anyone have one ?

Which ones are best ?

Lots on freebay and amazon.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

I have a very basic tree which was free with my set of new wheels when bought online.

Its very basic (probably cost around 10gbp) bût does the job welll enough.

In the end you are only going to touch it 2 times a year so probably any will do.

Mine has a nice material cover to keep the wheels clean & free from dust which I would recommend.

I also have a very cheap tree. It's just a couple of tubes stuck together, that falls apart when you unload the wheels. But when the wheight of the weels is on it, it does the job perfectly. It also came with a protective cover.

I have one of those racks that goes on the wall - works great, can't remember how much it was but lots of choice on ebay etc. fifty quid or so maybe? worth it to keep stuff off the floor in the garage IMO.

I have a tree one (or a few).

They are fine for smaller lighter wheels. But they have failed with my xtremes.

I've since reinforced them with a old broom think through the middle.

I too have a couple of the cheap ones €15 ish from ATU.de, but similar to those for £20 on ebay.

Only consideration is that the tree takes the width of tyres (ie. 225 mm) you are storing (summer and winter).

My A2 wheels fit nicely on a 50cm deep Ivar shelf. Not sure if 195/65R15 would still fit through the gaps, I suspect they would.

I bought a cheap one off Amazon. Works well, but only just capapble of holding the weight according to the spec. Max 100Kg. My summer alloy wheels/tyres weigh 23 kg each.......

The winter steels and tyres are 19kg each

I bought awheel/tyre 'tree' for £9.99 off Amazon just over a couple of years ago.  Has been in constant use since for my winter 225/45-17 on Dezent alloys or summer 225/40-18 on standard vRS MkII FL wheels.  Does the job and came with a cover.  Only takes up the same floor space as one wheel/tyre.  Glad I didn't pay more.

Yeah, remember to check that it will hold your rim/wheel size.
