Smartlink - dealer fit

I am a new Rapid Spaceback (1.2 TSi 110 SE Sport) owner having had my car for about 3 weeks. I am really very happy with it overall but am a bit miffed that when ordering it, the dealer agreed to activate Smartlink and has now told me it cannot be dealer activated. The car was not specified with the feature and I bought the car from their stock models as it matched everything I wanted but I do really want the Smartlink feature.

 

Has anyone had this dealer activated or knows if there is some other trick to make this happen?

It currently can't be done on the rapid.

When the MY16 cars came out (mid '15) there were some threads on here which suggested there were apps etc which would do the job without the expense.
