VCDS Errors - boost issues perstist

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have had boost issues for some time and put a new actuator on which still gave issues but stopped the car going into limp mode.

I had the VRS into a diagnostics place yesterday. They checked out the new turbo actuator and determined it was setup in the correct range.

There is still an issue with restricted acceleration up to 2000rpm, then juddering from 2000rpm - 2500rpm then normal acceleration from 2500rpm.

They suggested changing the N75 vacuum solenoid valve which I did this morning. Now I have managed to get limp mode and a couple of errors.

0299 - boost pressure not reached, which I had before with the old actuator and also 00470.

The error info for 00470 is below.

Can anyone shed any info??

Cheers

Dave

Anyone?

I have the same code , don't know what it is but has never caused any problems as far as I know.  It comes and goes with me

It's maybe unrelated to the boost issue but it's a new error since I put the new N75 valve on along with the return of the 0299 error.

I didn't get limp mode with the original N75 so will maybe change it back.

Can't believe how difficult it is to fix this problem.

Sent the VCDS log files to the tuning place I use and they had a conversation with Ross Tech.

They now think there may be an issue with the EGR being clogged or sticking and it is worth taking it off and checking it out.

It's the 2.0 CR CEGA engine.

How is the EGR removed? Is it straight forward?

Is this not as simple as the vanes sticking in the turbo.

No, it doesn't seem to be. I checked when the actuator was off. There was no resistance at all when moving the lever up and down by hand.
