Front wipers are not working properly

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have problem with my Front wipers. When I change windscreen wiper control for 1st speed level nothing is happening. When I change for full speed windscreen wiper it is starting. I assume that there is problem with windscreen relay.

I want to change bot don't know where it is and how to change it ?

I took some pictures of relay panel maybe you will be able to help me ?

My car is Skoda Rommster 2008 1.2 htp.

Please check those pictures:

I think the wipers are controlled by relays inside the 'vehicle voltage control module' J519, soldered onto the circuit board.

However, it's not clear to me whether this is valid from how you describe the problem, but if it is the intermittent operation that isn't working, but continuous operation is OK, check that your bonnet/hood is closed fully. If your car has a microswitch that detects bonnet opening, it will disable the intermittent wiper function if not closed fully.

Of course my hood is fully closed :). The issue must be somewhere else.

Maybe the hood microswitch is faulty? (If it exists)

Do you have auto wipers?

If so the 1st position will only work when the sensor detects rain on the screen.

no I don't have autowipers

Get the car scanned then, it could be a faulty switch as they are not unknown to fail, especially as the wipers actually work... just not in all positions.

Not overly helpful though are they, can you get someone with VCDS to scan the car?

I've got only VAG... :(. I try to find someone who has VCDS.
