Abnormal noise on could engine

Featured Replies

Hey, can anyone help please. from the start there is a funny noise when starting on cold, its only done 3000mil.been to skoda they say its normal! How can a empty bucket full of screws noise can be normal?

Its only on the cold engine. audi,Mercedes dont have that kind a noise,i cant work out why is there and what is that noise.

Anyone else experienced this? Thank you

Vixvet,

What engine (diesel or petrol)? What transmission (manual or auto)? Does it go away once the engine gets warmed up? I assume this would be a Rapid, not a Superb Mk III (based on your sig).

If it's a 2.0 diesel then it is 'normal'...

Really?? One would except to hear any abnormal noise on brand new car... Why is that noise then? What is that noise? Only cold, goes away after a short period

Wouldnt

Mine is a 150 tdi and sounds like any other diesel on cold, sounds like a normal engine sound, solid and constance and not like a toolbox been chucked down a flight of stairs.

I have the same engine/gearbox and whilst I've only done a 1000 miles, I can't relate to the noise you describe. Why don't you try another one at the dealer's?

When i got the car mileage was 25, but it said that next due Service is after 9400 mil - How is that possible?

Could it be set to annual servicing??

  • Author

Yes annual.but it supposed to be 10000 showing rather 9400 - or i dont understand something.

It could be the difference between when your car was built and when you took delivery of it, maybe a month of your 12-months had already passed.
