Superb First Service - Nothing done

Featured Replies

"Variable service" means the service is due when the oil quality indicator says, irrespective of time or mileage since the last service (or from new).

VW must have their Communications Manager moved off shore from the UK and lots is being Lost in Translation again on Service Plans

& Wear & Tear, re Servicing Fixed or Variable / Flexible.

Basically someone has lost the plot, and is talking sharn.

You are on the wrong Servicing Regime, or have been sold the wrong Servicing Plan.

Seeing as it is a Financial Arrangement have everything in writing with the Dealer Principal where the product was sold to you, that is the vehicle and the service plan, and The Dealer Principal can see what their employees did to the car at the PDI, and on the Service Plan.

All cars should have an oil & oil filter change at least every 10k miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

Leaving things longer than that - unless you do mega motorway miles at a steady pace - is surely asking for trouble, especially if you plan on keeping the car for a long time!

I wish the OP well in his dispute with the dealer. I couldn't agree more with the sentiment that all dealers seem to start with the presumption that the customer is a numpty that can be easily had over!

Makes me very cross!!

All, just an update, having got nowhere with Volkswagen, I went back to the Service Manager at the Skoda Dealership who was very helpful and friendly, who took my car in and did perform a service on it.

Hoping all goes well next year

Thanks for everyone's help and advice on this matter
