octavia 2013 heater fan problem..

Featured Replies

hi, my november 2013 octavia mk3 1.6tdi  is just out of warranty, just my luck the heater blower has packed in just when its needed most, it is working intermittently so not sure if its the blower or the heater resistor, any suggestions for what to look out for before i order any parts, is this  a common fault cos i dont think the heater should need replacing after only 3 years, other than this have had 3 years painless motoring,,,thanks in advance

Set the blower to maximum speed, that bypasses the resistor pack. If it blows full speed on max, it's the resistor pack. If still faulty, it's the motor.

Get to a skoda dealer and ask for it to be fixed as it's barely out of warranty.

Even if they won't, they should give a good will payment towards it.

Its a safety issue also if you can't demist the car.

My sons car has the very same problem, any updates on yours

Has anyone got a goodwill payment for a failed heater motor replacement, my son has just had his replaced and a bill for £412. Ouch.

£412!! Wow that's a fair bit.

For a budget car the parts dont appear so budget in price.

I'm getting the old motor off them, get it checked by an auto electrician, and if its a manufacturing fault, then I will ask for the £212 back for the motor, in my mind, a motor costing that much should last morevthan 3 years.

I'd be arguing along the lines it's a safety issue as you cant demist the car, bad vision etc.

Under the consumer rights act, goods must be fit for purpose for 6 years.

If not your entitled to a free repair or refund.

If the dealer isnt interested call Skoda customer services.

How can I contact Skoda UK, and does the 6 year fit for purpose cover all parts or just safety critical issues

Google it my friend. ..
