Finally picked it up!

Featured Replies

Just got back from the dealers with the new Octy. It's been 3 1/2 weeks of a rental mokka and I was literally counting the minutes until I picked up the new set of wheels today.

Very chuffed with the purchase, can't wait to see it in the daylight! Will hopefully get some pics up tomorrow or over the weekend.

Black Magic Octavia vRS Estate

Black Pack Plus

Winter Pack

:)

Congrats:)

Nice, congrats! Winter pack is a lovely thing to have at this time of year. The heated screen is great for demisting even if it's not frozen on the outside and the toasty seats are nice too.

Congrats.

Winter pack was best option I went for I reckon! Having heated seats and screen on my other vehicle (Ford Ranger) it was a no brainer for the Octavia.

We kind of lucked out with it to be honest - our car broke beyond economical repair late November and we needed a car asap.

The car was at factory exit when we ordered it, so all options were already on!

A couple of nice surprises though - lane assist and folding mirrors were on it when we picked up, but we weren't charged for them. I wonder if they're getting rid of parts before the FL model goes through the factory.

Lane assist is standard, at least on more recent Mk3 vRS's. Folding mirrors aren't (or weren't) standard though - nice one. Unless you have electric seats, in which case they are part of the package AFAIK.

Nice one, enjoy.

happy you.

It still has normal headlights.... :) :P

So - the 'running in' begins. 100 miles done. Once the oil is up to 90 I'm starting to put my foot down, really enjoying the power delivery through the low - mid range but already itching for more in the flat spot at the top 15-20%.

Also noticing the oil temp shooting up every time I give it some beans, just after a little 30 second blast before I caught up with the car in front I noticed it had gone 100+. Is this normal? Not had a car which accurately reads the temp to the degree before, so maybe I'm just being a bit picky!

110 is normal

I'd only worry if the oil temp gets to 130+ for a significant amount of time. I have seen mine get up to 120 C when towing the caravan in the summer.

You've just accelerated and generated heat...that's why.

Think of the physics of the combustion process.
