Hi, as someone desperately hoping an end of December delivery will turn into "before Thursday this week" do you know what build week you vehicle had?

Thanks

I am not sure what build week it was but it was ordered with the dealer (Willis in Ruislip) on 3rd November.

Hope it does turn up before for you. No idea how they get here but if its by boat perhaps it was next to ours!

Well picked up the new Yeti today, sorry to see the Greenline go but the PCH deal on the 1.4 L&K made a lot of sense.

Excellent handover - Alex our man in Sales admitted he was  a Techy and knew everything about the car and the differences from our previous one; really made a change from our previous sexperiences when any technical query had to get referred to the workshop.

Initial observations  - how much quieter it is than the 1.6 diesel.

Just need to swap the winter tyres and wheels over now.

Glad you like the 1.4 the power is quite surprising isn't it! As a matter of interest, what make of tyres did yours come with, mine is fitted with nexen tyres, I always thought these were a budget tyre!

Mine came with nexen's to,i suppose its whatever the best deal the manufacturer could do at that time

I imagine if you want to raise your profile as a tyre manufacturer, offering at a bargain price to a manufacturer would be a logical option.

They compete with Hankook and Kuhmo, which perfectly good tyres.

My mums VW Polo came with Nexen tyres 3 years ago, but the latest polo 66 plate came with Good Years and most new Yetis seen recently have Good Years fiited, so I guess they are cutting cost and back to Nexen for a while.

Are these the 225/50/17

You were lucky to get your car car so quickly! Ordered mine in mid October, another L & K 1.4 PCH deal, was hoping to get it before Christmas but no chance of that now, last update had it being built sometime this week, so probably still a month away by the time the Christmas holidays are past and things get moving again. Enjoy your new car!

Yes Nexen tyres I think, not a brand I know and would have preferred a major brand like Continental. Always been fussy about the tyres I buy and have always gone for ones rated for best wet braking/handling .

Havent driven it yet - wife drove home as its technically her car - but it is a long time since I have driven a petrol engined car ( Merc 300 4matic 15 years ago) so interested to see what it is like.

Well 7 weeks order to pickup. The missus is delighted with her new toy. I'll admit I am rather taken with it.

Because it came early we ended up picking up in the dark, which I am not delighted with but it was that or after Christmas. Working all day tomorrow so its Saturday when we'll see it in daylight.

The net divider looks good and the salesman was interested to see it fitted as he'd never seen one before! He also told us the mirrors didnt fold in using the key fob, but we demonstrated the hold button down method and he'd not seen that before either.....

Might be able to take some pictures at the weekend.

...and the tyres are Nexens!

...and the tyres are Nexens!

This made me curious so i've just been out to check my 1.4 L&K which was brand new and collected this day last year.

Mine has Pirellis on it.

Michelins on my L&K. Which is good :sun: . Until you get a puncture. Which I did, after about 2k miles :(

Mr Edwards, Enjoy!

My youngest had Pirellis on his (June 2015) and mine were Michelins (April 2016)

Mr Citigopher, 2k miles - bad luck but not as bad as my luck. Non repairable puncture driving home after collecting brand new from the dealership.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just checked mine, picked up yesterday and fitted with Goodyear Efficient grip

Collected our SE-L on 21st December, and that has Nexen tyres too. I've never heard of them, and haven't driven in any really bad weather since so can't say if they are any better or worse than the Michelins that were on our previous SE.

I had Nexen's on one of my other cars. Never again.

"Ditchfinders" would have been a better brand name for them.
