Gave it a good run through the gears on the way home, and it's behaving very well. Hit 60mpg with me driving, but dropped to 57 when the wife took over for the last 15 miles.

Nice looking motor there Rusty, nice looking Elephant too...........

Of course you can Rusty  :hi:

Was the last 15 miles the same as however far you drove it though?

I did out of Manchester, stopped for fuel, stopped for a coffee in the motorway services and then motorway all the way. She did motorway and then a couple of miles through the villages to home, so fairly similar overall.

The elephant belongs to next door. I'm unsure of the significance but they've been there for a long time (the gates that is, and the neighbours for about 40 years).

and Race Blue too, can't be beaten.

..........It's only blue cos you can't get that Model/ spec in Meteor Grey

Yep, it's the Elegance. It hasn't been washed since we got back either.

Full spec includes Columbus system, Canton sound system, xenons, heated half leather/alcantara seats, Front assist, reversing sensors, Stop-Start, Keyless entry, and I think the rest is standard Elegance spec. Full main dealer service history and 46k miles on it.

I didn't spot the gates, thought you were commenting on the Yeti  :D

Looks great in race blue, i take it if you were hitting 60mpg it is diesel? 1.6 or 2.0? Manual or dsg?.

2.0ltr 150bhp, manual.

Looks smart, love race blue!

It's the best colour with the best spec we could find in the country, within budget that is. There was another one similar which was about £1500 more than this, but didn't have xenons, and had full leather. Had to have xenons though so it was the one for us.

Completely understand where you're coming from. I travelled from Lancashire to Cambridge to view and buy my Race Blue VRS. At the time there wasn't another in the country with the same spec in budget (Columbus, Canton, Winter pack etc.). The fact it was race blue and only had 15k on the clock sealed the deal and I knew I had to travel for it. Was totally worth the 9 hour round trip!

Well, of the last 5 vehicles I've bought, this one at 200 miles round trip was by far the closest. The others have been South Wales, London, London, Ipswich, and south of Nottingham

Looks great, I feel your pain looking for the right spec, took me a good 6 month of looking to find one that ticked all the boxes for me at a reasonable price.

Oh, just found out it has Hill Hold Assist too.

Errrrr. Kinda think they all do

Well, my old Jetta didn't although the Yeti does. It's only an option on the Yeti as well. Another toy for the wife to misunderstand and complain about when it doesn't do what she wants.

Welcome. A clean Race Blue Octvaia is indeed a nice looking motor.

But I'm biased - having recently fetched one north from the south coast :-)
