Collecting my L&K on January 3rd

Collecting my L&K on January 3rd

Plenty of pics of course when you get it! I'm going to wait a day or two to collect mine as I don't like really low number plates which I know might sound a bit odd...

I'm actually doing the same. I'm getting a D reg on it and I'm waiting until the 6th to get higher numbers. And it's a Friday, for the superstition in me

D regs in the hundreds or even just over a thousand always look a bit funny to me. It's worse in Waterford where numbers are never going to be high for a few days. Unless you want to spend a grand on a special number and that only attracts to much attention and can look a bit tacky IMO. Good luck with the new one!

Good luck with the new one!

And good luck to you too Superb170.

Another reason I'm getting the D reg is that when trading again in the future, it gives me better options. Some garages were giving me bad quotes on a trade in because I had a MO reg. They said it would sit on their yard for too long and thus possibly depreciate too much before eventually selling. They simply didn't want the mayo reg. I chatted with one Dublin garage about this and he said the worst cars to take in were Donegal and Limerick registered

Good call on the D reg plates especially with a high spec car. Did you have any issue organising the D plates?

No. A Dublin address is all that is needed. So I've relations there and I'll give my name at their address. They will post the log book back to me when they get it. Then when taxing the car, I'll use the change of address section on the front of the log book and tax it in my local tax office. There won't be any extra owner recorded as it will always have been in my name.

not available to build thought on skoda.ie

It kind of is - try to configure an Ambition and then select Alcantara seat and hey presto it turns the car into a Sportline with all the extra's. The only problem is it doesn't add the extra 4200 for the Sportline over the Ambition!

Collected at approx 1pm today. At 7pm I has 300klms done.

Still haven't setup all the options. But ... have to day .... much better drive than the 142 L&K

Good stuff! All the best with it! Looking forward to seeing the pics!

Not really.

The Sportline Alcantara seats are different than the Ambition/Style + Alcantara seats.

The headreast is integrated and not-movable and the torso support is bigger on the SportLine seats, due to their shape (it's pretty much the same seat as in the Oct3 RS)

On the down side, the shoulder support is significantly smaller on the Sportline seats

At 6 feet 3 inches tall (my size) I found the SportLine seats not confortable - the fixed headrest was forcing me to sit bent forward in the seat and I lacked the shoulder support from the Style seats. I missed the torso support from the SportLine, but, I guess you can't have them all (except if you have an Audi/BMW with the full adjutable - the multicontour seats that you can set either to be confortable, or to have a sporty hug)

Plus, the SportLine has Alcantara on the door cards (the Style has that leather imitation)

Plus, there is the "black pack" for the headliner material

Plus, there is the sport suspension (this you can have as option in the Ambition/Style)

Plus, there is the exterior trim elements (this you can retrofit from SuperSkoda, all elements available)

I was'nt really clear enough - Im not talking about selecting the Alcantara option. When you go to the configurator and select Superb, the next option is 'Warranty' and then you select ' Ambition' and then get to select Engine etc. If you select any of the 2.0 engines, then on the next screen you get a chance to select colour,(note not all colours are available for sportline- i picked red) and immediately after this you get a choice of interior with 'black upholstery' pre selected. If you click the option for 'black alcantara sports seats' then on the next screen you get an option to select Sportline. As ever Skoda Ireland have'nt updated the pricing but its a 4200 euro option.

As well as the extra's you've called out Sportline gets some really good other toys (over and above Ambition)

    • POWER SEAT ADJUSTMENT WITH MEMORY FOR RIGHT SEAT
    • "DRIVING MODE SELECT"
    • "PARK DISTANCE CONTROL"
    • "REAR VIEW CAMERA MID"
    • "SUNSET"
    • 3 spoke multifunction leather steering wheel (SPORTPAKET)
    • Alloy wheels 18" Zenith
    • "Keyless Entry"
    • Climatronic (3-zone) with rear air conditioning control panel

The big thing missing versus the Style is sat nav which is standard in the U.K. If this was standard then the Sportline would really be a stronger alternative to the L&K.

Im currently 2 years into a PCP on Superb Combi 2.0 170 but am tempted by the current 0% offer and must say I like the look of the Sportline and the spec but Ive yet to get a trade-in value on my own.

Im 6ft 1 and found the Sportline seats really comfortable in the showroom,  but Im not sure if they will be as good as the standard seats after a 3 hour drive - will see can I get a longer drive in one maybe

Sorry to dig an old thread, but just wondering do you guys still feel the Sportline seats are more comfortable than the L&K? Bearing in mind the loss of ventilated seats for the summers? I'm 5ft11 if it helps.

Are the lumbar adjustments similar between the 2? And in the UK, the passenger seat is also powered for the L&K?

There's no physical Skoda dealer where I'm at sadly.... So I'm looking at direct import from the UK.

Difficult question.  I sat in a Sportline, played with the seats and thought they felt very very comfortable.

I test drove a 220 TSi SEL, leather seats.  Nice but felt hard.

Purchased an L & K.  Seats felt much better than the SEL without question IMHO.

Are the L & K seats better than the Sportline, I doubt it, I just wanted leather this time, didn't want a Sportline as I wanted something less obvious and also wanted the additional toys that I was not prepared to pay for on the Sportline.  I think in all honesty you'd be very happy with either.  I am 6ft 4".

Steering wheel and dark lining was the only  two things I liked about the sportline. Was originally interest in the black out features but as glad  black glad did not get the sportline
