In my GolFabia RS speedometar doesn't work, and today I managed 4100 RPM in 6-th gear. What speed could it be in km/h.

Check out this thread for top speeds. Seems that standard Fabias are good for between 129 and 135mph or 206-216Kph.

Do a search for gear ratios. There is a spreadsheet on here somewhere with the gearing for the car on 16 and 17" wheels with both early and late gearbox ratios.

Well, on my recent 140mph stint, I was only doing about 4000/4100rpm in 6th.... So you're looking around 220+ km/h. :eek:

How do I make a calculation out of gear ratios? Do you know the formula?

i did 147 mph on the clock on my 03 plate VRS i have pikey mod 1 and 2 and the modded cupra intake!

I work it out around 53.7 km/h per 1000 rpm on a later gearbox

4100 rpm will be around 220 km/h (136 mph) assuming the rev counter is accurate

I have Fabia engine and gerbox of Fabia RS dec/2004, so it's new gearbox.

So if the calculator works fine if I had the sixth gear out of old Fabia 0.756 i would go about 232 km/h. With sixts 0.814 I was going 216 km/h at 4100 rpm

Even with the longer gearing I very much doubt it was doing 147 mph. maybe 5-10 mph over the offical speed but not 20 mph higher.

driving fast doesn't mean riving like a ****. i'd rather sit at 140mph on an empty motorway than do 45mph past a school at kicking out time.

I was on the empty motorway at 00:15 this morning. I know at what speed I'm driving on public roads. In 4th gear at 1500 RPM I'm going 50 km/h, and in 5th at 1800 RPM I'm going 80 km/h, and in 6th at 2000 I'm going 100 km/h. Thats all important speeds I need to know. Somebody was driving infront of me and we talked on the cell phone so I remembered that speeds.

So I'm not in the UK . I wasn't put anyone in danger except me.

With 1000miles on the clock, ive had 135mph out of mine on the flat with 4 people in the car. Was very surprised as i was expecting far less untill engine had reached a 10k service. 06 Fabia vRS, no mods.
