Newbie from the Highlands

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Have had a Yeti 2.0 TDI SE 4x4 for the last 2 years. It has had 2 broken rear springs (very disappointing)(it has the off road protection pack but its rubber has never been off tarmac), and a jamming rear calliper necessitating new pads and discs. It has heated front seats and windscreen which really spoils one in the frozen north - couldn't do without them now.

Apart from that and the frustration of parking dings I have really enjoyed it. So much so that I will take delivery of a 2.0 TDI L&K in the New Year. I had looked at a similar spec. VW Tiguan but the cost was frankly absurd by comparison.

Wife has a 2015 Citigo - very capable little car.

Welcome :)

.

Thanks guys

Was in the motor trade up until about 20 years ago (After-sales manager for the largest VAG dealer group in Europe) but those days are behind me and happier I am too!

Needs are simpler now and with access to all manners of exotica in the past I have no need to aspire to anything. In the early days it seemed I had about ten company cars in a row that were Florida Blue - never seen one in that colour for years - odd as there were thousands of them. Wife has degenerative health condition - diagnosed over six years ago and her bucket list car was a TT - so changed her car and got her one in Brilliant Red - it was marvellous. Got to the stage she had difficulty getting in & out so we moved it on. Thought about keeping it for myself but it would always have been a reminder - anyway, I had an MX5.

Observed Skoda's flowering particularly with the Vrs options coming on stream and they were beginning to get noticed - now they are the smart option.

Colleague's Tiguan more expensive and less well specced - says it all.

So, happy to be here.

Welcome Bill.

Highlands is a big area! I'm way over west beyond Fort William.

If that's 'local' and you need VCDS at anytime, we could introduce our Yetis...

Very kind offer! You'll know H.I.S. then  :sun:

Passed through Strontian a few times when out for a run (a long run!).

I'm nearer Inverness.
