1.9 tdi egr delete

Featured Replies

Hello ,

Just got a MK1 110BHP ASV 2003 53 reg Lauren and Klement Octavia estate .

Looking to do a full egr delete kit , will this model bring the light on does anyone know ? ( ie will I have to have a remap to delete?) or do these not act like the later passats which bring lights on?

cheers

I don't think it will be a problem  instead of the cost of a "kit"   just blank the vac feed to the egr(flying saucer) diaphram   invisible and reversable

Is that the small black pipe going into the plastic push rod /diaphram thing at the back of the Egr ? does this do the same job ?

thanks

In that unit is also the Anti Shudder Valve, that closes off the inlet on engine shut-down

it's to top one   flying saucer     if you fit a small headed nail (head first )into the flex  pipe and then  refit to stub, it can be removed later if needed

Thanks. Don't 'do' Facebook. Could you PM me an email or similar? Thanks!

...and sorry, did you fit the kit on without any problems? No lights, no anti-shudder malarkey?

Quick one, is this item circled the anti-shudder valve?

Yes that is the anti-shudder part of the valve assembly with the EGR being the "Silver" top hat bit

I  use a ball bearing in the vac line :)

Thanks. I placed an M5 hex head in the vac line and put a self-tapper in the EGR saucer. It felt strange just to leave that open... Or have I done something wrong?

Leaving the saucer open is fine, just looks tidier with a ball bearing and the pipe re-attached, but a bolt does exactly the same job :)

Mmmm I like tidy... Just a question then, how much vacuum is in that line? Is there any chance that the BB could be sucked along the lines?

Never seen one move, and as long as the ball bearing is bigger than the inner diameter of the vacuum line there is no chance of it passing the connection at the other end anyhow

Yep, true. Thanx.
