Renew Citigo with new?

Featured Replies

Citigo will be three in May. OSR seat belt socket has broken. Exhaust ( I think ) is banging and knocking when starting and accelerating or decelerating. Hope it's not a drive shaft. Dealer to look next Tuesday. Had a valuation too. They have offered £3750 which seems lower than expected. Will cost £8000 to change. Any thoughts anyone? If I change before April then I keep zero VED. After it goes up to standard rate £140. Just coming to 30,000 miles.

The exhaust and seat belt won't cost much to fix (much less than £8,000 anyway). At 30,000 miles there should be plenty of life left in your car so if you are happy with it apart from the two minor faults that you have already mentioned then why shell out £8,000?

For my twopennies worth, just get the things sorted and run it into the ground unless you have a spare £8k to burn every 3 years :)

SWMBO's Citigo is a September 2012 SE with 10k miles, it clunks a bit on the rear nearside but it is going nowhere, as far as we are concerned it would cost around the same as you to get back into a new Citigo SE and for what gain.

Dealer offer looks low to me. Try we buy any car for a valuation, I got nearly as much as that for an Elegance with 104,000 miles on the clock.

That echoed my thoughts.

We buy any car offer was £4275 so the dealer offer is certainly very low. Not going to change now. I will check alternative manufacturers.
