Superb bluetooth and EE

Featured Replies

Hi

Looking to change my network now my contract is due to end with Vodafone, can get a MUCH better deal from EE and according to EE I can get at least 3G, maybe 4G service in the village :)

Quick question does anyone have issues with the EE sim card connecting to PREMIUM connection.. my car has the latest "E" version module with 3G and WiFi...

I have an excellent Samsung Note 4 so cant see  the point of a new phone and contract when SIM only will do, and I can save £150.00 over 2 years compared to Vodafone for the same package.

Nope, works great. I had EE for a year and got solid connections. I have just switched to BT mobile which runs on the EE network. The E module even shows the BT network name. I even use the streaming feature as well via the WiFi for the kids tablets.

Have you looked at BT mobile BTW? EE network but if you are a BT customer you get a fiver off. We pay £35 for 15GB family SIM package (2 SIMs for £35). We get 15GB data ea, unlimited voice and texts. Same network service but cheaper.

Thank for the reply, I did look at BT but the offer is there broadband which I dont have..

EE do unlimited minutes/text and 20GB 4G data for £25.00 per month if I do it before the 17th... Vodafone want £37.00 for the same package but offer 6 months half price... even with the offer I will save £30 this year and £144 next so a big saving.. plus 6 month free Apple Music, but I have Amazon Music so the Apple music will be cancelled after 6 months.. Plus I can get 3G/4G in the village :)

I did speak to Vodafone customer service and cancellations to see if they would match EE as I have been with them for 15 years, outright NO we do not match.. so I am ordering EE later today now I know it works in the Superb OK, my contract runs out on March 25th, as instructed I can cancel 30 days before that date and transfer my number, will just have 2 contracts for a month or so...

Been using Twitter and EE Chat and the advisors have been really helpful, I want to keep my number, but still have a couple of months left, both said no issue we will give you a number with the new SIM, just lets us know when you get the PAC code from Vodafone and we will move the number, takes about 24 hours... Plus if I want to get a new phone I can upgrade a SIM only plan after 6 months... Seems a good deal and good network so far... :) and very helpful...

It did annoy me Vodafone prefer to loose a long standing customer than do a deal, in fact it was £25.00 in December! there loss...

I`ve been with EE and now BT for a long time and never had a problem with them, usually always get a good signal.

Getting back to your original question, I do have a problem connecting my Note 4 to Premium bluetooth (the module is a wifi version, can`t remember the model number). It regularly disconnects from premium mode and then struggles to reconnect without some faffing about. It connects to handsfree mode without any issues so I leave it on that for now. I`ve not a chance to properly investigate so I don`t know if its an EE issue or a module issue.

I think that issue is SIM related are you having the issue with BT SIM or EE? ... I have the same issue on occasions with Vodafone, can work perfect for weeks then disconnect and connect in different ways, either straight to premium, to hands free or I manually connect .. I did test a Virgin SIM and that worked perfect..

Dealers even changed the module in mine, better but still does it now and again...

I had the problem quite frequently with EE. It`s still the same with BT (I switched last month) which like Nathanio said works through EE. I can`t test another sim as everybody else in the house uses Apple and nano sims, my Note 4 is a micro sim. I`ll put up with it for now but Premium is handy as it boosts the signal, the other benefits I can live without.

Mine seems to do it a few times then be OK for a while, not a constant issue as such, just a pain... Like you say EE and BT are the same network in reality by the sounds of it...

I think you'll find the Note4 can be tempremental on rSAP. Seen lots of it on the stock Samsung ROM but not on Cyangenmod ROMs.

I did used to get odd behaviour occasionally with old S3. Swapping to LG G3 with the same SIM was rock solid.

Now running a rooted LG G4 on Marshmallow on EE and now BT. I have maybe once every 2 or 3 months it can't rSAP but does HFP. Quick reboot and it works again fine.

I had the same issue with my S3 so culd be down to Samsung although (touch wood as they say) it is a lot better now, can go a few weeks...

Does the LG have rSap?

Yup, and I love it. It's much closer to a stock build of Android. I wouldn't move back to Samsung phones if you paid me. I use it everyday via rSAP and as I say I use it to stream to tablets.

I'd like a One plus 3T next.

May be an option when I change handsets :) I must admit I like my Note 4 ..

I did think that very few phones supported rSap these days as Android stop supporting it, in fact reading around I think the later versions now have it removed.. ..

So, EE should work OK with my Superb and Premium? may get a few issues the same as Vodafone Lol

Since when did Android stop supporting rsap? I have an LG G4, running Android 6.0, and rsap works perfectly. And I don't expect anything else in the upcoming Nougat (7.0) version for my G4.

I read on the Internet that they had removed it plus a few people have noticed that once they updated to the latest version rsap did not work would only connect to normal hands free. . May be wrong

Yes it should, certainly works nicely for me with my G4 and revE.

I believe Samsung has removed rSAP from latest ROMs for some reason. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Same here.

There is always the Android-rSAP app to provide it. I used to use that on my S3 when it wouldn't connect proper

There is no rSAP on my Edge S7 (latest Samsung SW version).

I know I read it somewhere... maybe just a Samsung thing..

I have just ordered a 12 Month SIM Only deal from EE, Unlimited texts/minutes and 20GB data for £25.00 per month, better than the £38.00 I pay on my current contract and that is with a 25% discount over 2 years so it will be well over £40.00 from March...

In fact I ordered a PAYG EE Sim yesterday which arrived today just tried it in my old S3 and it connected to my Superb rSap OK, once I paired the old handset Lol ...

Vodafones loss for not matching a deal to keep a 15 year customer...

The same package on SIM Only from Vodafone is £37.00 per month but half price for 6 months, so first year...£333.00, same deal on EE £300 so save £33.00 in year 1, Year 2 ... I save £144.00 ...so over two years a fair chunk!

Vodafones loss for not matching a deal to keep a 15 year customer...

There is no point in being loyal these days, very few large businesses actually care. It seems the preserve of the small independents.

If you've got PAYG, you may be able to wangle another £3 a month loyalty off. I tried all the networks on PAYG before I switched to EE. Because I had a PAYG SIM they have me an extra £3 off a month. My wife signed up 2 weeks later, we activated the PAYG in the store, made 1 call and then got £3 off for her too!

Mmmm. ... may give them a call once I get the new contract SIM arrive ;)

I work in the motor trade for a large factor in Yorkshire, and we do care and customers are important... after all they pay the wages... I do agree though I found large motor dealers tend to not give a damn if they upset people but family run businesses including D M Keith in York do, they still have family values..

I suppose for Vodafone my £40 a month is nothing.... shame though, always had excellent service and been there 15 years..

Just need to wait now until mid February, well 30 days before my contract ends in March and get the code to move my number, I must admit I have used EE's chat, Facebook and Twitter to ask loads of questions and they have been great, very helpful.. better than the "NO" I got from Vodafone :)

Before I signed up with EE yesterday I had already ordered a free PAYG SIM from them to try... this arrived just after I had signed up...

So today I tried the EE PAYG SIM in my old Galaxy S3 on a trip of about 40 miles today.. connected to Premium and even better connected as 3G which Vodafone have not put in the village.. so that's a bonus :) When I put it in my Note 4 may even get 4G...

Stayed connected no problem... SO hopefully all will be good :)

Mind you I did have an email from EE regarding my order....Please call us to confirm details... here we go I thought... Spoke to a very nice young lady who asked me to confirm my date of birth amongst other things... turns out I put the date of birth wrong so the credit check failed... I know I want to forget how old I am but I thought i still remembered the date Lol ...

Anyway all sorted and had confirmation of the contract.. :)
