Switched live and start/stop.

Featured Replies

Hey all,

For some reason my dashcam intermittently loses power when the engine stops with start/stop and refuses to power back up when restarting until the next cycle.

I'm using the rear wiper which still works so presume it's related to my hard wire kit.

Anyone experienced this and what fuses are you using?

Cheers

Never seen this. I used a piggyback on the rear wiper fuse and the dashcam goes on and off as expected and is unaffected by stop/start.

Just had the same issue again this morning but when starting. Enough power to power up but stopped straight away.

Weirdly it kicked in a few seconds after the engine stopped due to start/stop.

Meh lol

Tested this on my commute this morning. Stop start activated but camera still ran. Rear wiper also still works whilst stop start is activated. I piggybacked onto a switched live, but can't remember if it was rear wiper

My dashcam has a separate power indicator for both power and recording. Weirdly, when it failed, you can see the power blink momentarily, the device will come on (it has a backup battery) and then go off due to low battery.

Going to have to play around with a few different fuses to see what the problem is.

If it helps confirm anything, i also have my dashcam piggy backed on the rear wiper fuse, and i don't get this problem ever.
