Maxidot frozen when in phone menu

Featured Replies

Up until yesterday I have had no problems connecting my iphone 6 for calls and playing music.

But I noticed that even though spotify said it was playing through Skoda_BT the cars radio was still playing i.e. it did not automatically switch to bluetooth media, I am suspecting the iOS 10.2 upgrade has caused some issue.

So I tried several times disconnecting the phone and reconnecting to no avail.

I then tried deleting the phone and user via he maxidot phone menu.

The first time it reconnected ok but still no music, so I deleted it all again and tried a second time and now I have another issue.

When I click on the phone and go to the phone menu it is stuck on the enter password display and and I cannot cancel out of it, I can go to the MFD but only if I hold the return button for a few seconds rather than the normal quick click.

I left it overnight expecting it to work the next morning but its still stuck on the password screen (see attached image).

Anybody seen this before and know how to unfreeze it? combination of buttons held down maybe? or do I need to disconnect the bluetooth module which I have seen suggested for other bluetooth issues?

I've had the bluetooth unit in the car freeze before if I get too excited with the menus, but it's always reset itself after about 10 minutes.  I assumed there was a watchdog timer in there.

I guess you could try rebooting the bluetooth unit.  It's under the passenger seat.  Just unplug the big harness and plug it back in again.

It actually looked like it had fixed itself overnight as it was back in the pairing menu.

But tried to pair and stuck in the same screen again.

Will unplug the BT module later and see what happens.

Confirmed, good old fashioned reboot did the trick.

I must admit I don't think mine has ever automatically swapped to the BT audio input on the Columbus when I start playing music from my iPhone..... I have to change the Columbus to Media then BT myself.
