DTUK Pedal box fitted and with great results

Featured Replies

Hello people

I thought I'd share my findings from getting the pedal box for my MK3 VRS TDI yesterday.

I'd already had the CRD3+ fitted a good few months ago and I've been really impressed with that, but the only thing which was annoying me slightly was driving in the wet.

When pulling away from the line / pulling out of a junction and doing so with a bit of gusto, it was quite easy to wheelspin it in 2nd gear. This is can be in the lowest setting.

But (and this is a big but), since putting in the pedal box this has gone (unless you really cane it).

First things first, installing it was a 5 minute job and I'd recommend putting it into the glove box by your right leg. Firstly so you've got easy access to the adjuster, but secondly so you don't have to stick anything down anywhere.

It was raining yesterday afternoon by mine and I put it on the lowest setting and went for a quick blast round the back roads where 2nd and 3rd gear are utilised somewhat. I felt the power coming through that little bit slower, but because the traction control wasn't getting touched, I felt more in control of the throttle.

Today it's been clear but there's still a smidge of dampness on the road, but even bumping it up onto the 2nd setting with the fine adjustment plonked down 1 notch, the feeling of control was very good. I even turned off the pedal box and went back down the same road, and felt the improvement I was now missing.

£205 ish delivered is a bit steep, but I recommend having this on your car because it's no use having a zillion horsepower unless you're able to get it onto the black stuff!!!

Can't wait for the dry weather so I can turn all the bits up to 11

Sport+ & +3 otherwise know as 11 is fun

Saving for my box at the moment as i insured the car when i bought it as mapped at no extra cost. Looks like i may have to save a bit more for the pedal box as well.

I had one of these on my Saab.

It was a nice little addition.

Had it set to City most of the time, but switched over to Sport + when feeling a little devilish!

I just like having the control for it at my finger tips.

I think on there next version, it would worth dtuk developing a remote control for the crd system so you don't have to open the bonnet every you wish to make a change.

I'm going to carry on fettling with the plus and minus buttons and fine tune it to make it suit.

They would appear to go hand in hand.

Just enables to tweak it to your own driving style.

I got the tuning box to give more torque for towing but the wheelspin needed to be stopped.
