From an e-mail today====If you haven't signed up already it might pay to soon.

Dear Members

Just to let you know...

http://www.PipelineCard.org signed up it's 100,000th member over the weekend. Well done everybody!

It will still be April or May before we can send cards out, but these figures will help to give us the negotiating power that we need to get a good discount for everyone.

Best wishes

Sounds promising indeed - I too got the email this afternoon.

Fingers crossed it will be a deal with a major supplier, hopefully ESSO...

I'm still cynical about this. As I remember a similar thing years ago and nothing emerged.

I'm hoping it'll be Tesco so I can still get my clubcard points, I spend so much on fuel I'll have enough points to buy my local Tesco soon (well maybe one of the Tesco Express's anyway!)

I signed up over the weekend!! wonder If I was the 100,000th member? I think I should automatically win the Euro Lottery if I was!

Got the email as well, hopefully something promising will emerge.

Bit worrying when the word 'SCAM' is part of the person's name - true it could be a coincidence ;)

Indeed I got the email aswel, you never know it might take off.

I'm of the opinion that it'll be a bonus if something does happen! But we might as well try and do something. I saw the email at lunchtime and emailed it round to a few more people at work. Most responses were positive, and they may well be likely to email it round to some other people. So hopefully the cause will end up with more support, if everyone does this

No disadvantage to signing up though...

The pipeline card has been mentioned on national radio, and IIRC several big car mags.

Yep, the first thing I heard about it was from 'Evo'. And I then obviously went and registered

Got this e-mail today too. Still cynical about the whole thing, but fingers crossed it comes off as I'm currently putting

No. 100,002 now!!

I fill up at least 2 or 3 times a week so a 10p saving will make a huge difference.

But to be honest, I think the discount will be more to the tune of 2-4 p per litre, can't imagine the likes of Shell/BP/ESSO agreeing to a 10p discount, they are all greedy barstewards after all.

I hope it all goes ahead, it all seems to be pretty kosher.

E-mailed all the mobile engineers at my firm to boost the numbers.

You can normally get 5p off per litre in tesco anyway if you spend £50 on your weekly shop!! (I still signed up though)
