So on Tuesday 31st Jan I picked up a Citigo Colour Edition to accompany our Rapid Spaceback.

 

Despite knowing a couple of people at work with them I wasn't ready for how great of a little car they are. Haven't spec'd anything on it as I just wanted one asap so looked what was available in the colour options I wanted. So far so good though and will tinker a little if I feel the need. Due to my obsession with lighting some new bulbs have been ordered and the sill protectors will be fitted once the car is back from having a full new car prep and protection detail carried out.

 

Will be trawling through the forum and splitting between this and the Rapid categories but if anyone can offer initial advice it will be welcome. Looking forward to getting the thing run in so I can see what it really performs like as it has handled motorways with 3 passengers without any drama so far

After having a Citroen C1 and driving that down the motorway I was petrified when my other half got his Citigo for the first time. When we drove it home couldn't believe how quiet it was!! 

When I had the opportunity to buy a new car I jumped at the Citigo and ordered one and haven't looked back since. Would always now stay with Skoda!

What detailing did you have done?  Was there any issues with the paint? 

 

Mine has a drip in the paint on the rear panel.

As I said it went for new car prep so full protection on interior and machine polish and sealant on outside. Took it to Reflectology in Sheffield who said the paint was horribly soft and there were a few scratches around the car. Spoken to the dealership about this since.

paintwork does seem very soft on the Citigo, I've noticed mine is now covered in swirls even though I use two buckets and wash mitts! Mine will be going back soon as I want something bigger, will just have to ignore them haha

Solid colour or metallic? The clear coat on my Brilliant Silver Elegance seems no worse than that on the SEAT and VW cars that we have recently owned.

Yeah, based in Ecclesfield so hopefully get a meet up soon. The bug to make modifications is still strong so updates coming soon

Thats me ... Type-R was sold when I got the Citigo so quite a change of pace

The Mrs did similar.... She went Type-R to mk1 Fabia vRS to the Citigo.

Forgot to ask how much did the visit to reflectology cost you?

 

As I've mentioned in my New Arrival thread it looks as though our lasses' car was a showroom car for around three months before we bought it and it was registered and has swirl marks all over from three months of the cleaners dusting it with cloths etc.... I'm thinking of just having the bodywork done rather than the interior as that's all ok etc....

I had a budget of £500-£600 and we worked with that. Obviously each job is unique and by skipping the interior prep I'd expect you'd save a couple of hundred quid. I've upgraded to the SiRamik Glasscoat too which was a pricier option but after having black cars before I figured it was worth it. Most of the prices are on the website too which helps with pricing it up. 

 

There's usually a 6+ week lead time with them but I associate that with quality workmanship. I'd definitely recommend them or at least give them a call to discuss it. 

 

I know someone who uses Revolution Rides and they are happy with their work and a friend of a friend uses somebody else, can't remember details though. Horses for courses I suppose. If you find someone whose work you are happy with and can trust then sometimes cost is the lesser factor.
