Both Control arm rubber bushes including aluminium housing's were replaced circa mid 2014, with Lemforder parts from ECP.

 

My NSF (only) has just failed me my mot - deteriorated resulting in excessive movement. The OSF is ok.

 

The car has only done circa 10500miles since fitting these new ones.

 

(I did have to have this NSF fitted elsewhere in 2014 as a bolt snapped, but IIRC the old part was saved for me, and the car passed its mot the following two years anyway (2015 & 2016) after having these fitted due to an advisory February 2014).

 

Any thoughts???................................Apart from, yeah, you need a new one, Lol.

 

 

After three years it's unlikely to be covered regardless of mileage.

 

If you worried about a replacement failing quickly you could try a genuine part?

Are Lemforder not genuine parts? I thought they were.

Common issue as rubber twists with movement, go for Audi TT solid ones or super pro ones if you want something that's lasts longer.  My super pro ones have done over 55k and still fine.

I'm guessing the original ones would have lasted years and years past 100k miles as there is no mention of these being replaced, and I have a printout of the cars full history.

And Lemforder should be good parts.

The only thing I can think of is that the garage that removed the sheared bolt and fitted this mount / bush used some lubricant to push it onto the wishbone, that reacted badly with the rubber.

 

I have sourced a Febi Bilstein part (27069) from mister auto at £14.08 + delivery. List is £61.20. Hope it is genuine part. (Skoda ref 1k0199231j). Anyone else used mister auto???
