Hi guys,

 

the car is a 2010 TSI VRS with 60k on the clock and for a few weeks now there has been a front end knock when I go over speed bumps etc, I'm thinking this is a suspension bush. Any thoughts?

 

Secondly, is there meant to be a spring that pulls the handbrake down when released? I have to depress the button and push the handbrake down as there is no spring action acting on it? This happens even if the handbrake is pulled up but hasn't clicked, it will remain in the position its let go in?

On B5.5 Passat there are springs on both sides of rear brake caliper "controling" the handbrake, don't know if Octavia has the same system?

Does the knock happen more when you're turning at low speed? Likely culprit could be the suspension strut top mount bearing.
