Engine overheating and epc light

Featured Replies

Hi

I have Skoda Fabia 1.2 htp 2008 with 150.000 km and i started to have epc warning and lose of throttle (no more than 2 rpm) few secondes later the engine overheating warning started, so i replaced the thermostat and the housing but nothing changed.

ps: The cooling fan works fine, and the cooling fluide level is ok and has no leaks, what do you think the problem is?

Thank you.

Is the water pump working?

Check the small pipe going to the top of the coolant bottle with the engine running, it should be pouring through.

The water pump works fine, so could it be the headgasket ? because i noticed some oil consumption and i added 1/2 littre in the last 10k kilometers but it doesn't mixte the oil with water so i'm really confused.

You have to ask the question

1 - Is it actually physically overheating OR

2 - Is it indicating that it is over heating?

Take it to a dealer and get them to check the Temp sender

Hi guys

I think the problem is resolved :) thanks

The overheating caused by some air in the cooling system so i turned the engine on with the bottle open for 15 minutes and that did it.

And for the epc light it was the throttle bodies 6 pins wire.
