wing mirrors

Featured Replies

has anybody any tips on how to keep the glass clean on the wing mirrors mine collect so much dirt i have to clean the glass every day otherwise its quite dangerous how mucky and useless they get,

What on earth are you doing?  In this weather the mirrors are the only bit on my car that seems to be staying vaguely clean.  I keep finding the rear view camera is the bit that needs cleaning every day with the amount of muck the rear of the car seems to attract.

Seriously though, you might want to try putting some Rain X on you mirrors to make them more water (and dirt) repellent.

As said, my door mirrors stay clean when driving. On a long dirty motorway run, my front side windows got mucky, but not the mirrors. After trying Rainex again, I'd not  recommend it on the rear screen . It's rather like looking through gauze curtains when the rain beads up.

I've not cleaned my car for a few weeks and the motorway daily grind has made my mirrors quite dirty.

Not much you can do apart from clean them before leaving (if they are that bad) and I usually throw some wax on the glass each time I wax the car. Does help a bit with stuff not sticking as much. Usually do the same for lights and number plates too.
